St. Valentine's Pancakes with Whipped Cream

Hello everyone!

Happy Valentine’s Day! Hope you enjoy it and express your love to the fullest. Now, I think it is also VERY important to remember that we SHOULD always, every day communicate our love.  Sometimes it isn’t as easy because you may be busy but there is always a minute to say how much you love your significant other, your family, your friends and God!

I know that some people celebrate this day in different ways, some take turns; one year the girlfriend or wife will make the plans for the day and the next the boyfriend or husband and so on.  In my case, we don’t really follow anything specific, we just surprise each other with a simple present and have dinner (usually out).  Since my husband and I LOVE pancakes I decided to make red and pink pancakes with whipped cream.  I feel like pancakes are starting to be on “our breakfast menu” every holiday! :) Enjoy!

P.S.
Remember you don’t necessarily have to buy things; you can also make something on your own to give in this special day.  In fact, I think people appreciate more the things you make because you take the time, the effort and it comes from your heart.  Just a thought! :)  I've added a link of something you may like, and it's very easy to make.

First we'll start with the whipped cream.  It is very easy to make.

You will need:

1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 1/2 sour cream
1/4 cup confectioner's sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:
Combine the cream, sugar, sour cream and vanilla in a medium bowl.  Using an electric mixer whip for about 5 minutes. Set aside.

Now, let start with my hubby's pancakes.  He likes the FiberONE.
You will need:

1 cup FiberONE pancake mix
1/4 cup Almond milk
1/2 tbsp Butter
1 teaspoon Unsweetened coca powder
Red coloring
Toothpick

Mix the FiberONE, almond milk, and cocoa powder

Add the coloring

Mix it well

Top with whipped cream

Here is the mix for my pancakes:

1 cup Aunt Jemima pancake mix
1/4 cup almond milk
1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon butter
Red coloring
Toothpick
Chocolate chips

Add the pancake mix, the cocoa powder and milk

Add color to the mix

Add butter to a small pan

Add chocolate chips

Happy Valentine's Day!
