Like I mentioned when I started
blogging, I will be sharing some of my “secrets” on how to keep a nice appearance
and feel comfortable and happy in your own skin.
Secret-
My biggest secret is my faith and
relationship with God. Having this
connection allows me to understand and believe that I am important and that I
deserve to feel good because He wants me to do so. He doesn’t want us to feel sad, not so pretty
or not important. However, it is very
important to accept that our bodies are sacred and we have to respect them and
take care of them as much as we can.
Organization-
Being organized also helps the
cause. Creating an agenda will help you
organize your tasks, work, etc. For example,
I set a day/time for cleaning the house, (which I see as a work out) I dance (salsa)
while I clean LOL, another day to do my own manicure, pedicure, etc. I prepare the clothes I will use ahead of time;
I don’t wake up and start looking for the outfit in the dark and half
asleep. I try my best to do things in
advanced so I don’t have to rush.
Hair-
I try not to wash my hair more
than three times a week so I can let it absorb the natural oils. I like to get
it trimmed every three months and that is why it grows so fast. Also, I like to
style it in different ways so I can feel/look different. Sometimes I have it straighten,
or I wear it curly, wavy, etc. My hair
is thick so it’s kind of hard for me to wear braids, but you can try them! If
you don’t have much time you can just do a ponytail, wear a hat or a nice pin
and that’ll make you look different to the other days. If you have gray hair, cover it up so you can
feel/look younger. This will help your self-esteem.
Face-
I wash my face twice a day, in
the morning and at night, and I apply moisturizer right after I wash it. It is
very important that we apply cream to our faces, especially during the cold
weather, and in my case even more having such a fair skin, it will get very dry
and start to wrinkle prematurely. Also,
it is important to have a good sleep, so that your cells can repair the damage
caused during the day. If you have dark circles, you can cover them
up with concealer. If you are not sure
which color is best for you, feel free to go to a store such as Macy’s, JC
Penny, Saks Fifth Ave., etc. and they will do a consult for free and even try
products on to see what best suits your skin.
If you don’t want to wear a lot
of makeup, just apply moisturizer, mascara and a little bit of blush so you don’t
look like you are sick or dying LOL. In
my experience, putting some makeup on makes me feel like I care about myself
enough to take 5 minutes to feel pretty.
Some days I just don’t want to put anything on, and that’s the end of
it, and it’s alright, but not all the time.
The same for the elbows, I find
it very inappropriate to have your elbows and knees dried, it takes 5 seconds
to apply cream/lotion every morning. Make
it a habit and you won’t forget! Also,
mustache! Oh mustache, how dare you grow in some of our faces! LOL Get rid of
it, PLEASE! You can get a cream at the local store for $5 and get it off in 8
minutes, there are no excuses!! : ) Always wear hand lotion, your
hands will “tell” your age. When you do
the dishes wear gloves.
Drink lots of water! Try not to
drink sodas or processed juices. Make your
own fresh juices. Eat healthy, try not to eat too much meat because the toxins
are not good for you. Also, take a multi-vitamin every day and this will help
you have the vitamins your body needs to function properly.
You don’t need to be loaded of
money to feel pretty and to take care of yourself. There are a lot of great products that are affordable
and you can get them in local stores.
Clothes-
Before you go shopping, you need
to know what you will be looking for.
Make a list and try to stick to it so you don’t spend more that you
should. I always try to think of the
clothes/accessories that I have at home so I can make up outfits with the
pieces I buy.
Exercise-
Try to work out at least two days
a week. Zumba is a great work out and it
will make you feel great!
Vitamin D-
Take a daily walk for 5-10
minutes so you can absorb some vitamin D.
Take advices-
Be open to your friends and
learn how to take good criticism. You
will not always see things the way they really look from the outside. Ask your friends for their opinions and be
willing to change if necessary.
Conclusion-
Overall, you MUST first feel
comfortable and happy with who you are so you can project it. You can wear the most amazing clothes,
makeup, accessories, and have a great body but if you don’t feel happy with who
you are you will not look as good. Be
grateful for what you are given and embrace it!

Como
mencione anteriormente, estaré compartiendo mis “secretos” de cómo mantener una
buena apariencia y sentirse cómoda y feliz con una misma.
Secreto-
Mi mayor secreto es mi Fe y relación con
Dios. Tener una conexión con Dios me da
la oportunidad de entender y creer que soy importante y que merezco sentirme
bien porque así El lo quiere. El no
quiere que estemos tristes o que nos sintamos feas o no importantes. Sin embargo, es de suma importancia que
aceptemos que nuestros cuerpos son sagrados y que debemos respetarlos y
cuidarlos los mas que podamos.
Organización-
El ser organizada ayuda muchísimo. Debes crear una agenda donde puedas organizar
tus tareas, responsabilidades y demás. Por ejemplo, yo aparto un día para la
limpieza grande de la casa la cual hago al son de salsa! LOL, otro día aparto
una hora para hacerme una mani y pedi yo misma.
Además, preparo la ropa que me voy a poner con anticipación. No me gusta
buscarla en el último minuto porque siempre me tardo más.
Cabello-
Trato de no lavarme el cabello más de 3 veces a
la semana para que pueda absorber los aceites naturales y no esté reseco. Además, me gusta peinarme de diferentes
maneras para sentirme y verme diferente.
Algunas veces me lo plancho, otras me lo dejo rizo, y otras me hago los
rolitos. Yo tengo mucho cabello así que se me hace difícil hacerme trenzas pero
tú podrías tratarlo! Si no tienes suficiente tiempo, puedes hacerte un rabito, ponerte
un gorrito o cualquier hebillita que te haga ver diferente de las otras
ocasiones. Si tienes canas, ve a la tienda y compra un tinte para taparlas,
esto te hara sentir y ver mas joven y te ayudara en tu auto-estima.
Cara-
Yo lavo mi cara dos veces al día, una en la mañana
y otra en la noche, y aplico humectante en ambas ocasiones. Es bien importante
que apliquemos humectante en nuestro rostro especialmente cuando el clima esta
frio y seco. En mi caso es aun más
importante ya que mi piel es tan blanca y tiende a resecarse y arrugarse más todavía. Además, es importante que durmamos las horas
necesarias, yo se que es difícil a veces siendo madres y trabajando el poder
dormir lo suficiente pero es importante para que nuestras células se
reproduzcan y reparen el daño hecho durante el día. Si
tienes ojeras (como yo), las puedes cubrir con corrector. Pero si no estas segura del color que mejor
te va puedes ir a cualquier tienda por departamento para que te hagan una
consulta libre de costo.
Si no quieres ponerte mucho maquillaje, solo
aplica humectante, mascara (pestanas) y un poco de colorete para que no te veas
enferma o muy palida. En mi experiencia, cuando me maquillo me siento mejor y
me hace sentir que me preocupo por mi misma y solo necesito 5 minutos y ya
estoy lista! Hay días en los que no me quiero poner nada y eso también está
bien pero no todo el tiempo. J Ademas, el bigote, Oh querido bigote! porque
tienes que crecer en algunas mujeres!! Je je
Si quieres desacerte de esos pelitos oscuros inapropiados, hay cremitas
en las tiendas (Walmart, Target, Walgreens, etc.) que solo cuestan $5 y en 8
minutos ya esta resuelto el problema. No
hay excusas!
Piel-
Cuando salgas de bañarte, aplícate crema en
todo el cuerpo rapidito y esto ayudara a que siempre estés hidratada. Lo mismo con los codos, que feo se ve cuando
una persona no se humecta los codos! Toma 5 segundos aplicarse crema en los
codos cada mañana y antes de acostarse. Crea
un habito y ya verás que no se te olvidara. Además, a la hora de lavar los platos, siempre
usa guantes para que tus manos no se resequen.
Toma mucha agua!! Trata de no tomar refrescos
ni jugos artificiales. Prepara tus
propios jugos. Come saludable, trata de
no comer mucha carne porque las toxinas no son buenas para tu cuerpo. Además, toma multi-vitaminas diariamente para
que tu cuerpo pueda funcionar apropiadamente,
No necesitas ser económicamente rica para
sentirte bonita y cuidar de ti misma. Hay
muchísimos productos que no son caros y son muy buenos.
Ropa-
Antes de salir a comprar ropa, necesitas saber
que es lo que estas buscando. Haz una
lista de lo que necesitas y mantente firme para que no gastes mas dinero de lo
acordado. Yo siempre trato de pensar en la ropa y accesorios que tengo en casa
para combinarlos con la pieza que compro.
Ejercicio-
Trata de hacer ejercicio al menos dos veces a
la semana. Zumba es una buena forma de
mantenerte activa y ejercitada.
Vitamina D-
Aparta 5-10 minutos para caminar afuera y
absorber vitamina D.
Aprender a tomar consejos-
Esta siempre abierto a escuchar y tomar críticas
constructivas. No siempre vas a ver las
cosas de la misma manera que las ven los de afuera. Pregúntales a tus amigos y familiares por sus
opiniones y esta preparada para cambiar si es necesario.
Conclusión-
En todo momento debes sentirte cómoda y feliz
con lo que tú eres, con tu esencia para que así lo puedas proyectar. Puedes
tener la mejor ropa, maquillaje, accesorios y cuerpo, pero si no te sientes
feliz contigo misma, te veras mal, porque eso es lo que proyectaras (lo de
adentro). Se agradecida por lo que Dios
te ha dado y aprovéchalo!
